Success Story

Being a live-in caregiver in Canada is a great responsibility. Every year thousands of live-in caregivers enter Canada to

take care of children (nannies), elderly persons  or persons with disabilities through the Live-in Caregiver Program.

Among them was Amalia Burthan, who came to Canada last year to become a live-in caregiver and take care of a 5 year old girl. First she was worried if people in Canada will be friendly but she was brave.

She entered Canada in February and her employer and her child were in love with her right away. A year later, Amalia is not only their nanny but has become a part of the family.

Welcome

Canadian Caregivers Association (CCA) is a not-for-profit organization that was established to protect the rights of Canadian families and live-in caregivers from all over Canada and warn them about malpractices in this business.

I love Canada. I love being a nanny here. In Canada you have rights and people are polite and respectful. A live-in caregiver here is respected
for the work she does. The members of my host family welcomed me with open arms and let me be a part of their lives. It is also very rewarding
for me to see my own influence on the development of the children.

I recommend all my friends to come to Canada if possible.
